Moon Knight’s black panther mocks a bad future of the Avengers

Moon Knight takes a deeper look at the pantheon of Egyptian gods, but there is a connection with Black Panther making fun of a bad future of the Avengers.

Warning: Spoiler for Knight of the Moon episode 3.

Knight of the Moon explored the Egyptian gods in the MCU and laid the groundwork for a bad future for the Avengers. The Egyptian gods (called Enneades) were active for many millennia. However, during that time, the relationship between the gods and humanity became strained. The gods believed that humanity had abandoned them, so from that point on they used their avatars only to carry out their will on Earth.

In Knight of the Moon episode 3, Marc Spector and the moon god Khonshu summoned the members of Ennead to accuse Arthur Harrow of a conspiracy to resurrect Ammit. Before the trial, Marc met Yatzil, the avatar of the goddess of love and music, Hathor. It was revealed that before the Egyptian gods banished Khonshu Knight of the Moon, Khonshu appreciated Hathor’s melodies and friendship. But the public may have missed the fact that Hathor was already mentioned in the MCU, dating back to Captain America civil war. After the death of King T’Chaka, T’Challa mentions the Egyptian goddess, but with a different name. In the comics, Hathor was also known as Sekhmet. T’Challa says: “In my culture, death is not the end. It’s more of a starting point. Reach out with both hands and Bast and Sekhmet lead you to a green veld where … you can run forever. “

Knight of the Moon introduced Hathor as the goddess of love and music, but the Egyptian goddess has a much darker side. This dark side is what could end up turning the Egyptian deity into a bad future of the Avengers. In the comics, Hathor became bloodthirsty after her father Amun-Ra sent her to punish humanity. Her hunger for death transformed her into Sekhmet, and she later became known as the lion goddess, sharing somehow similarities with the Thor: Ragnarok bad, Hela. Sekhmet eventually became an enemy of Wakanda and, more specifically, of the Black Panther. In the comics, at one point he even kidnapped Black Panther to attack the Avengers. Therefore, it is possible that Hathor / Sekhmet may prove to be a bigger threat to the Avengers in the future.

Marvel Moon Knight Episode 3 Hathor Avatar

Currently, Hathor seems sympathetic to Khonshu’s predicament, as demonstrated by Yatzil’s effort to help Marc find Ammit’s grave. Hathor’s loyalty to Khonshu is the perfect setup for some trigger that could turn Hathor into Sekhmet. As it was shown in Knight of the Moon, Khonshu does not think particularly about the feelings of others nor does he consider them at all. Hathor believed Khonshu would at least mention her to Marc, but that wasn’t the case. Therefore, while Hathor has shown a commitment to Khonshu in aid of him, the sentiment may not be reciprocated by the moon god. It is possible that Khonshu takes Hathor for granted Knight of the Moon it could be what gives her hand. It might be enough to turn Hathor into the bloodthirsty Sekhmet in the future.

As mentioned by T’Challa, the panther goddess Bast and Hathor shared a connection by guiding souls on the astral plane. Reports suggest Bast will be in attendance Thor: Love and thunder, yesor the dynamic between Hathor and Bast’s relationship could be further explored. The public will have to wait and see if more could happen Black Panther: Wakanda forever and the next installments of Knight of the Moon.
