Kyle Richards defends laughing at Erika cursing at Garcelle’s son

Kyle Richards felt she had some explaining to do after furious fans called her out for laughing at Erika Jayne cursing at Garcelle Beauvais’ teenage son.

“I was laughing about a friend’s drunken, ridiculous behavior. NOT about disrespecting someone’s child,” Richards, 53, insisted in an Instagram comment Monday after two preview clips from the upcoming episode of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” went viral.

“I think you know me better than that by now,” she added. “I wasn’t even there to see this and only heard about Erika and what she had said later.”

During the scene in question, Richards, Dorit Kemsley and their respective husbands, Mauricio Umanksy and Paul “PK” Kemsley, discussed Jayne’s boozy behavior at Beauvais’ birthday party, which included propositioning the former “The Real” co-host’s 31-year- old son, Oliver, for a threesome and then telling Jax, 14, to “get the f–k out of here.”

“I was laughing about a friend’s drunken, ridiculous behavior. NOT about disrespecting someone’s child,” Richards wrote.

“You guys, did you miss how Erika said to Garcelle’s son, the 14-year-old, to go f–k off?” Richards said to the group with a laugh. “I mean, it’s not funny, but it is funny.”

“I was there,” Dorit, 45, interjected with a smile before Umansky, 52, added with a hearty chuckle, “I think it’s great that she did that.”

Richards said she liked “seeing this more relaxed side” of Jayne, 50, which Dorit agreed with “100 percent.”

Richards’ explanation came after she and Dorit Kemsley were seen laughing about Jayne’s behavior.

“I feel like that’s why I can give a major pass,” Dorit added, noting, “Of course, it’s not my child.

“So she had a few drinks. She doesn’t get like that — I don’t think I ever remember a time that she was that loose and free.”

Richards went on to say that Jayne seemed “more fun” before reflecting on the first few years of their friendship in a confessional: “I used to think, ‘I wish she would open up more. I wish she would loosen up a little bit.’

“Seeing this side of her that’s more open and honest, even if she’s not always showing her best side, at least it’s genuine.”

At Beauvais’ birthday party, Jayne told her co-star’s teenage son to “get the f–k out of here.”

Even the most die-hard Richards fans promptly flooded social media to express their disappointment. One Instagram user hypothesized that the dinner was “a TOTAL makeup session for the couple’s [sic] scene from last season when they made fun of Erika.”

Regardless, it’s safe to say Beauvais, 55, is alive.

“@GarcelleB did you know Kyle, Mauricio, Dorit & PK had this conversation laughing off the appalling way Erika spoke to your child or did you learn this watching the episode?” a Twitter user inquired along with the clip of the dinner.

“Nope never saw this scene until now 😡,” Beauvais replied before praising all three of her sons for showing “respect to people even when they don’t deserve it.” (She is also mom to Jax’s twin brother, Jaid.)

Jayne’s comments, as well as Richards’ response to them, will air Wednesday at 8 pm ET on Bravo.
